Fans of the blog may remember my original post bearing a similar title (WAAR Plan for Victory in 2014, 2016 & Beyond) where I outlined what Republicans must do to win elections at the national level.
For the most part, Republican candidates running for Congress ran on platforms that mirrored my recommendations and won big in 2014 but the Washington insiders (read- Boehner/McConnell) have failed to follow through on even a single promise. As a matter of fact, the Republican majorities in both the House and Senate have failed to pass a single bill for President Obama to veto!
Now it is time to complete the plan and elect someone (Trump?) to follow through and get something (ANYTHING) done.
The plan is almost unchanged. It boils down to the economy, immigration, national security and manliness. By the way- all are linked. Psst... Don't forget social issues... (more on that later)
The missing ingredient to conservatism since 1980 has been charisma and manliness. I contend that political correctness is not manly and certainly not American.
The Economy
Taxes are too high and businesses are leaving the United States in droves. As a matter of fact, the only U.S. automaker not to accept a government bailout (Ford) is going to spend $2.5 billion dollars opening a plant in Mexico.
What have the Republicans in Congress done? Answer- nothing. Who should we trust to call out a broken trade and tax system which incentivizes this sort of thing and fix it? A political insider that either was complicit or did nothing to stop these free trade deals coupled with business-crippling tax and environmental codes or someone who has spent his life navigating them?
Immigration
The United States is being invaded by murderers, rapists, terrorists and drug traffickers. Politically correct wimps like Jeb Bush have said that illegals come to America in an "act of love."
Step I- admit truth.
Step II- build wall
Step III- enforce existing law (deportations)
Step IV- simplify a rational immigration strategy to identify all guests and pick the ones we want
*Can be done concurrently by a President/Congress/Party with a sack.
National Security
President Obama has weakened our military (cut funding/women in combat/gays openly serving / coming soon: transgender Soldiers), disgraced our veterans' service through an inadequate V.A. healthcare system, destroyed the American economy and basically green-lighted Iran nuking up.
All the above were allowed by wishy-washy Republicans in Congress!
We need a President (and Congress) that understands that if you simultaneously weaken our nation and strengthen our enemies through ludicrous deal-making that you place the entire world at risk.
Who can we trust to make tough deals with people who want to destroy America? Who can we trust to walk away from the table if a proposed deal isn't good for us like President Reagan did in Reykjavik when the Soviet Union wanted concessions from the U.S. that would endanger our national security?
Hillary? Jeb? C'mon man.
Social Issues
The so-called conservatives in Congress can't even stop clearly unconstitutional acts of depravity committed in the name of political correctness.
Planned Parenthood is federally funded, performs abortions and SELLS BABY PARTS!!! The Hyde Amendment (a law...) says:
SEC. 506. (a) None of the funds appropriated in this Act, and none of the funds in any trust fund to which funds are appropriated in this Act, shall be expended for any abortion. (b) None of the funds appropriated in this Act, and none of the funds in any trust fund to which funds are appropriated in this Act, shall be expended for health benefits coverage that includes coverage of abortion....
The Supreme Court also recently ruled that the individual states of United States have been in violation of the 14th Amendment (ratified in 1868) for 147 years by not allowing gay marriage.
Couple this with the wholesale slaughter of Christians at the hands of Islamic savages and you have a Hot War on Christianity.
We have given the establishment guys a chance and they have punted. They refuse to oppose traitorous Supreme Court nominees or even to recommend true constitutionalists for Senate approval when we occupy the White House.
For those of you "Republicans" out there that are afraid of a guy like Donald Trump being soft on social issues, I simply ask, how could he possibly be any worse than the losers we elected in 2010 and 2014?
Manliness
We are being led by 60's throwback, liberal grandmothers and men that may as well wear pant suits in the halls of congress. It is time that we elect a John Wayne type of leader with a New York accent. One who makes no apologies for American exceptionalism and truly puts OUR interests first.
The more I think about it the more I believe that Donald Trump is that man.
