For years now, Behind Enemy Lines Radio has kept track of the calvacade of politicians at all levels being charged, tried and/or convicted of various crimes ranging from violent offenses to corruption and misuse of their power and authority.
The "People's Republic Of" New York has never had a shortage of alleged offenders - this time it's Republican Congressman Chris Collins getting caught up.
From the New York Post:
Obviously, all parties are innocent until proven guilty, but this news comes as the latest black eye for NY politics, which seems to have finally found bipartisan support for something.US Rep. Christopher Collins is accused of tipping off his son — while attending the 2017 Congressional Picnic — to results of a failed drug trial that was about to crash the stock price of an Australian biotech company.Collins, who sat on the board of Innate Immunotherapeutics and was its biggest shareholder, got the highly privileged information moments earlier in an e-mail from the company’s CEO, Manhattan US Attorney Geoffrey Berman said.Passing along the information allegedly allowed Collins’ son, Cameron, and six other investors to avoid a combined $768,000 in losses by selling shares of Innate before their price plunged 92 percent, from 45.5 cents to just 3.5 cents each.
