This is why they call it the "silly season", folks.
Right before Iowa goes to cast the first votes in the 2016 election season, a former Trump staffer filed a sexual discrimination complaint with the Davenport Civil Rights Commission, claiming, according to the New York Times that Donald Trump's campaign is not providing equal pay for equal work, and, more interestingly, claiming that she and a young female volunteer met Mr. Trump at a rally where he told them, “You guys could do a lot of damage,” referring to their looks.
In a telephone interview on Sunday, Mr. Trump denied making the remark but did not address the other two allegations.
“That is not the worst thing that could be said,” Mr. Trump said. “But I never said it. It’s not in my vocabulary.”
From Talking Points Memo:
Elizabeth Mae Davidson, a former Iowa field organizer, filed a sex discrimination complaint against Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Thursday, The New York Times reported.
Davidson, who was fired this month, complained that her male colleagues were paid more and were able to speak at campaign rallies, while her requests to do so were refused, the Times reported.
Trump's campaign has responded as you would expect. From Bloomberg:
The 2016 Republican front-runner, who, according to the latest Bloomberg Politics/Des Moines Register Iowa Poll, holds a slim lead in the Hawkeye State over Texas Senator Ted Cruz, portrayed the story as politically motivated, and took aim at the news organization that first reported it.
"This is the New York Times doing a number on the people of Iowa," Trump said.
Of course, no one is taking a position on the veracity of this 11th hour filing, but the 24-hour news cycle is sure to pick this up as Iowans head to caucus, which may put a bit of a dent into Trump's support. Only time will tell.
