Sheldon Silver, the 71-year-old Democrat who was Speaker of the NY State Assembly for more than two decades has been found guilty on seven counts of honest services fraud, extortion and money laundering.
While Silver resigned as Speaker last January, he will now be ousted from his Lower East Side State Assembly seat that he held for almost 40 years.
The U.S. Attorney did what voters in New York couldn't do: take out this trash.
Though we did once reset the BEL NY Corruption Clock for Silver in the past, this event is so monumental in NY Politics, we'll do it again as a reminder that NY is still the Capital of Corruption.
