"The game is afoot." |
And to their credit, BiblioCommons, via their Twitter account, answered them. And while we here at BEL believe in the idea of "trust, but verify", it is encouraging when people and businesses step up and participate in a dialogue.

@PoliticalCrazy @AnnCoulter @BEL_Radio Our data comes from the library's ILS. Contacting the library now. Thank you for pointing this out!

So the big question is...
@BEL_Radio @PoliticalCrazy @AnnCoulter Yes! We're a catalog discovery layer & only show the items that the library lists in their own system
— bibliocommons (@bibliocommons) May 29, 2015
For those (like me) that don't know, ILS stands for Integrated Library System. So does that mean that each library changed the name of Coulter's book?!?
@BEL_Radio @PoliticalCrazy @AnnCoulter that it was the original (or WIP) title of the book & the library data just hasn't updated yet (2/2)

@AnneGallo @BEL_Radio @AnnCoulter If the metadata file was incorrect, any library who uploaded it would have incorrect info in the catalog
— bibliocommons (@bibliocommons) May 29, 2015
I had to look up what metadata was, too. So who would be the source of this metadata?
@AnneGallo @BEL_Radio @AnnCoulter Generally, metadata is provided by the publisher, or more likely, the book distributor.

Well, there you have it. Given this information, our original tipster has a suggestion:
@gberardelli @bibliocommons @AnneGallo @BEL_Radio @AnnCoulter Great! Let's contact publisher and distributor and see!

Elementary, my dear Geiger - it seems like the logical next step. Hopefully, the book's publisher, Regnery Publishing will be just a forthcoming. Stay tuned!
